Is Cyberghost Good for Torrenting?
Yes, CyberGhost is a good VPN for torrenting, but there’s one important thing to watch out for if you’re using qBittorrent.
In our test, we connected to one of CyberGhost’s dedicated torrenting servers in Germany and downloaded an Ubuntu torrent using qBittorrent. Download performance was good, reaching around 14.1 MiB/s compared with 13.1 MiB/s without the VPN, so we didn’t see any noticeable speed loss.
However, our initial IP leak test detected both the CyberGhost IP and our real IPv4 address when qBittorrent was set to use “Any interface.” After binding qBittorrent directly to the CyberGhost WireGuard network interface, we repeated the test and only the CyberGhost IP was detected.
Torrenting itself worked well once qBittorrent was configured correctly, but we’d recommend binding your torrent client to CyberGhost’s network interface rather than relying on the default configuration.
If you’ve used CyberGhost for torrenting, leave a review and share your experience. Your feedback helps other users see how well CyberGhost performs for torrenting in real world use.
